Terms of Service
These terms cover taking part in ReaDepth — signing up, answering the quarterly check-in, and receiving reports. They're written in plain language on purpose. By joining or submitting a check-in, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
What ReaDepth is
ReaDepth is a community-tracked view of the life-science and diagnostics industry, built from the directional opinions of people who work in it. We focus on sentiment and direction of change — how momentum and relationships are shifting — and we publish aggregated, group-level results. Reports are for general information; they are observations, not facts, forecasts, or guarantees.
Who can take part
You must be at least 18 and entitled to share what you choose to share. Take part as an individual giving your own view — not on behalf of your employer, and not in a way that breaks any agreement or duty you owe someone else.
What you share, and the licence you give us
You keep ownership of what you tell us. You grant ReaDepth a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable licence to host, store, reproduce, analyze, and create derivative works from your submissions in order to operate ReaDepth, and to publish, distribute, and sell the resulting aggregated, de-identified industry insight and reports. Anything we publish is aggregated, group-level output — we don't publish any individual person, lab, or named company's responses. You can withdraw your data at any time (see below); doing so removes your personal record and your check-in answers and unlinks your name from what you reported. De-identified facts, and any reports we have already published, may remain, and a copy may persist briefly in routine backups, as described in the Privacy Policy.
What not to share
Share only your own opinions. Do not submit confidential, non-public, or trade-secret information — your employer's or anyone else's — or material non-public information about any company. We don't ask for numbers, prices, spend, revenue, or anything confidential, and we don't want it. Don't submit anyone else's personal data, anything false or misleading, or anything unlawful. If we become aware that a submission contains confidential, non-public, or other prohibited information, we may remove or disregard it and may end your participation. We don't review or monitor submissions for this, and you are responsible for what you submit.
Acceptable use
Don't misuse the site: no scraping or bulk extraction, no attempts to re-identify individuals from aggregated data, no probing or interfering with our systems, and no automated or fraudulent submissions. We may suspend or remove access for abuse.
Not professional or investment advice
ReaDepth reports are general information about industry sentiment. They are not investment, financial, legal, or professional advice, and ReaDepth is not a broker, dealer, or investment adviser. These reports are not a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security; don't make trading decisions based on them. Do your own diligence before acting on anything you read here.
No warranty; limitation of liability
The site and reports are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, and may contain gaps or errors. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReaDepth disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, ReaDepth is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site or reports, and ReaDepth's total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to ReaDepth, the site, or the reports is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or (b) US$100. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
If you break the rules
If a third party brings a claim against ReaDepth because you broke the “What not to share” or “Acceptable use” rules above (for example, by submitting confidential, non-public, or someone else's personal information), you agree to cover the reasonable, direct costs ReaDepth incurs as a result, to the extent the law allows. This doesn't apply to claims caused by ReaDepth's own conduct.
Ending your participation
You can leave and delete your data at any time using the link in any email we send you — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what deletion does. We may also end or suspend participation if these terms are broken.
Changes & governing law
We may update these terms; we'll change the date below and, for material changes, ask you to agree again. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force, and the unenforceable part is limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary.
